Stackd
A compound interest calculator built to show people what their money actually does over time.
Overview
Stackd is a clean, intuitive compound interest calculator designed to make the math of money visible. Most people understand compound interest conceptually but never feel it. Stackd makes it tangible — enter your numbers, and instantly see your money growing year by year in a format that actually communicates the power of time and rate.
Problem
Financial literacy tools are either too simple to be useful or buried in complexity that drives people away. There's no clean, fast tool that just shows you the number. Stackd was built to close that gap — a product so frictionless that anyone can understand what their money is doing in under 30 seconds.
Approach
Designed for speed and clarity first. No accounts, no sign-ups, no friction. The entire experience is: enter your principal, rate, and time — see your result. The interface was built around the user's attention span, not a feature checklist.
Build
Built as a web application with instant feedback on every input change. The focus throughout development was removing everything that wasn't essential to the core insight: what does compounding actually look like for your specific situation.
Lessons Learned
The best financial tools are the ones people actually use. Simplicity is a design decision, not a limitation — every feature you add is a reason someone might leave before they get the value. Stackd taught me to treat friction as the primary variable to optimize for.
